Fun Things To Do In The Bahamas

There are so many fun things to do in the Bahamas that any vacation here can be as action packed as you want it – or as relaxing as many guests at Casa de Bahamas choose. Obviously there are the “normal” beach holiday activities like swimming in the sea, but there is a whole raft more of options on Long Island as well as the rest of the Bahamas themselves. That being said, swimming in the sea outside our house is definitely one of the most fun things to do in the Bahamas as it not only is only 30 yards from the back door, it is the cleanest and clearest sea in the world. It’s not to be taken for granted or overlooked!

Scuba Diving and Snorkeling

No list of fun things to do in the Bahamas would be complete without mentioning scuba diving or snorkeling. It quite simply can’t be beaten in terms of clarity, visibility and abundance of wildlife. No country in the world can compete with what can be seen here and many of our guests at Casa De Bahamas come just for scuba diving. For beginners, our coral reef is just a short kayak ride from our shore, and is a fantastic place to start your underwater addiction.

Swimming Pigs

Much like scuba diving and snorkeling, swimming pigs will find itself on most lists of fun things to do in the Bahamas. Where else in the world can you see such an unusual sight? And in such idyllic surroundings too? It’s why it is one of the most popular activities in the country. While it can be quite touristy, it is definitely worth it and no one who ever sees the pigs paddle, are disappointed.

Dolphin Sightings

Dolphins are loved by humans for good reason – they are incredibly sociable animals which makes them perfect for swimming with. It’s possible to do so in the Bahamas in a number of locations, one of the most popular locations being Blue Lagoon Island which is great for any level of swimmer. For this reason, many families choose to come here to swim with these intelligent mammals.

 Salt Pond Beach

So many guests at Casa de Bahamas love Salt Pond Beach and will choose it as one of the few places to tear themselves away from our own spectacular private cove. The reason being is that it has some awe inspiring sights as the landscape is simply stunning. The long white stretch of sand next to the turquoise blue sea is beautiful, but it’s also a great spot to head to as it has so many of the fun things to do in the Bahamas right here on one beach. For example, it’s possible for children to swim in the calm waters at one end of the cove, while at the other end there are sometimes a few waves to catch for a spot of body boarding too. Families love to come here to search for crabs in the shallow pools or by beach-combing. In short, everyone is happy on a trip here!
